Synen managed to hold back his cocky smirk and merely continued to smile warmly as the young mage's hand slipped from his own. Ah yes, the human mind was truly an amazing thing. So strong, yet find even the smallest opening and even a person as strong as this fine young lady would become an open book. Standing slowly, the young scientist looked over the room.
Unfortunately, there was a good chance that most of what he had been looking for may have been damaged, but this was still something he could possibly work worth. His smile turned to a small look of sadness as he allowed a weak breath of air t escape his lips. "I was actually hoping to come here in hopes of gaining knowledge of this Merging of worlds. All I really had to go on were the few words I heard from passing travellers of a mystical tower. When I managed to get here, I knew this was the place, but I must say I never expected to run into monsters like these." As he spoke he motioned to the large Gigas which lay at their feet.
After a moment he looked back to Maria and gave her another warm smile. "Though I also was not expecting to meet such an important young lady such as yourself either. If it were allowed, perhaps I could accompany you back to this Fynn and meet the Queen? If I could speak with her, there's always a chance that I could share the knowing of my world with your people and vice-versa." he spoke with the hint of hope of knowledge as his eyes met with her's once more.

Maria felt a moment's passing of sympathy when Synen ventured on to say that he hadn't been expecting such monsters. To be fair, neither had she at her first coming to the tower. But monsters there were, and the gigas were not the worst of the creatures that lurked in the shadows. Maria cleared her throat and looked down to the cracked floor when she was complimented yet again. Her queen? Yes, Hilda would be interested in any information Synen could bring to the kingdom. After Palamecia, Hilda had taken an offensive stance on magic and technology, and their uses.
“Of course, I'm certain the queen would be thrilled at your presence in the court.” Maria replied, feeling a moment of hesitation despite the man's goodwill. She'd been off to hunt for information on crystals, not bring home a man. Not that he was her man or anythin – oh, forget it! Mind on the work, girl, not on the near-stranger. “I doubt we have much that would be of use to you, but you're welcome to accompany me home. The trip is long, though, and we'll want to stock up in Mysidia or Lindblum before heading out.”
((Bleh. Badpost is bad.))

Synen gave a clear and very noticable smile as she agreed to take him with her back to Fynn. This travel just may end up working out even better for him than he could have hoped. The knowledge he could earn, the respect he could gain, and even the allies, or rather pawns he could possbly gain. It was all so wonderful.
Brushing a few black strand of hair from in front of his eyes he gave a nod. "Thank you, I'm certain that I'll find many useful things that could aid me in my work." Slowly he made his way to the door, careful of the cracked and crumbling floor beneath them. They had defeated the beast, he'd rather not lose his life due to simply tripping over rubble and causing the entire floor to collapse. "I can only hope that your Queen is as kind and curtious as you have been to me."
As he spoke he made his way to the doorway and offered his hand to aid her in trudging through the rubble and trash of the floor. He knew she could take care of herself, but still this was just common courtesy. "I suppose either stop is fine. Though a larger city would be most beneficial in gathering more of what we may need."
Your posts have been fine. ^^ Mine are the ones filled with craptasticness. ))
