Remember that poll where I asked you guys which FF games you owned? Well, there was a reason for it. And now you finally get to know what. We're going to organize a group playthrough, and I can't think of a better game to start with than Final Fantasy X!
Old enough that it's been a while since most of us played, right? There's no requirements for how fast you have to play, or anything that says we all have to be at the same point...but to make things a little more interesting for those of us that have already finished it, why not do a little competition?
Every day, I want you guys to keep track of how many game overs you've got and how far along you are and post it in this thread. We'll tally those up at the end, and update the thread as we go.
FIRST TO START: Kupo
FIRST TO BESAID: Kupo
FIRST TO LUCA: Kupo
FIRST TO DEFEAT SEYMOUR: Beebee
FIRST TO THE MACALANIA SPRING SCENE: Beebee
FIRST TO THE CALM LANDS: Beebee
FIRST TO ZANARKAND: Kupo
FIRST TO FINISH: --
FIRST TO OBTAIN AND UNLOCK AN ULTIMATE WEAPON: Beebee
FIRST TO OBTAIN ALL AEONS: --
FIRST TO BUY ALL MUSIC SPHERES: Beebee
FIRST TO BUY ALL MOVIE SPHERES: --
HIGHEST BLITZBALL SCORE: --
MOST GAME OVERS: --
LEAST GAME OVERS: --
If you hit any of these goals, make sure you post in the thread so we can fill your name in! And give us details. We like details. Remember, a couple of these are going to require daily or at least periodic updates, like game overs and blitzball scores. Obviously, we can't force you not to use old saves for some of this stuff...but if you do, you're boring and nobody will like you anymore. So don't.
We'll start NEXT SATURDAY, MAY 5TH, and nothing will be counted until then. Get your PS2s ready!

I'm game! I've been meaning to play through FFX again, though I was intending to pick up from my old save file....
Except this means I'll have to set aside FFXIII-2....

Play what you can of XIII-2 up until then? XD I swear, I went through that game so fast...See, it's impossible to get all 160 fragments without finishing the game first, so I didn't push myself to be an absolute completionist, not even to the extent I usually do. That helped. <3

Good thing you said that, K-chan; I missed the part where you said we were starting on the 5th xD Though I ended up playing XIII-2 anyway~
Really, you can't get all the fragments? :< Well...alright then xD
I only play a couple hours a day because I alternate with Zee and our other roomie, haha.

Nope! Once you finish, you get the Paradox Scope, which allows you to repeat certain battles throughout the game at a harder difficulty and unlocks a corresponding paradox ending. <3 But then, once you've collected all 160 fragments, beating the game again adds the secret ending to the regular one. I'm one fragment away now!

My copy of X shipped today! *happy dance* it should be here before Saturday... Now all that's left is to stock up on snacks, set up the ps2 and study like mad this week so I don't fall behind by doing nothing the week after.

I guess my question would be better suited in here haha. How does this work when we're all in different time zones? Do we just put what time we got started or each little sub-section in OUR timezone?

That's a good idea, Beebee. Personally, I don't really care how we do it - no need to be strict about it, really, since it's just for fun. Start whenever, tomorrow. <3

I woke up at 9am and considered starting but i'd gone to bed at like 5:30 so I changed my mind and slept instead. I'm starting now. Just choosing my sphere grid now. Think I'm going for expert even though it's been a while since i played this.
That said. I'm impressed with my memory card. There's one 50 hour save in the calm lands and a 70 hour game save in Tower of the Dead. And then a 6 hour save in luca. Anyway. It's 11:10 and this is my story is about to happen.
edit: I just hit Besaid. Totally forgot about troll Wakka...
