The regret he carried for not being able to protect his love burdened him,. Hojo experimented on him, and the woman he loved, tried to save his life, but it left Vincent a broken man both physically and mentally. The experiments ceased his aging and his body healed the most mortal of wounds he received over time. He was sealed away by Hojo. Though he had been released once by Veld, Vincent felt that it was best to remained sealed away in an attempt to repent for his sins, for he felt he did not deserve to live, so long as he was unable to be forgiven by Lucretia. During the DEEPGROUND incident Vincent managed to discover lost data on both the G and S Projects and the experiment that inevitably gave birth to his curse. He learned the true nature of Lucretia's research and how she had pinned all of the hope she had in her research in repairing the damage Hojo had done. During his life he had met many people, but has only accepted very few as his allies and friends. Veld had been his partner during his early days as a Turk. It was because of this man he still carries some faith in the Turks and their abilities. It was the reason he still considers himself an EX-Turk. Cloud and company have proven themselves true friends and to be selfish. His past there remains and Vincent was finally able to move forward. The Merge did nothing to change his behavior. The lone gunner kept to himself. He had a place in Kalm and would often visit the 7th Heaven to be with his friends. He did not deal with the strangers, because he was not yet put into a situation where he had to.
