Name: Refia, Daughter of Takka of Kazus.
Nicknames/Alias: None.
FF: III.
Age: Sixteen.
Height/build: She stands at around five feet, seven inches -- she's toned and muscular, but makes a point to not be stocky in the way some men are. Her body is less feminine than she'd like, however, with only faint outlines of what she calls 'woman curves.' (She hopes she's still going to develop, but ...)
DoB: October eighteenth.
Race: Human.
Weapon: Refia is very competent with a great many things, including swords and spears and knives, but her preferred physical weapon is a hammer (of any kind, although her smithing hammer is generally her favorite). Other weapons at her disposal (that do not necessarily deal physical damage) are generally staves and rods.
Level: 68. Strength: 204. Default Job Class: Freelancer Physical: 90. Magical: 80. Agility: 34.
Specialized Job Class: Devout Physical: 10. Magical: 160. Agility: 34.
Specialized Job Class: Viking Physical: 160. Magical: 10. Agility: 34.
Special Skill(s): Her main skill is her ability to switch 'jobs,' a skill gained from the Crystals -- to go from being a Freelancer, which is generally what she remains as on a day-to-day basis, to either a Viking or a Devout, based on her need. Transitioning from a Freelancer to either of the other two jobs takes little effort; however, she cannot go back-and-forth from a Viking to a Devout or vice-versa, even using Freelancer as an intermediate, without an incredible amount of exhaustion.
Magic: As a Freelancer, Refia is able to use the most basic of white and black magics, all of which are at their simplest stages. When she chooses to become a Devout, she can use high-level white and holy magic -- at the cost of her black magic and physical ability. She can become a Viking by doing the opposite -- by forsaking all of her magic altogether, Refia can greatly amplify her physical strength.

Appearance: Refia's most defining trait is her red hair -- inherited from her mother, according to her neighbors. Her bangs are a bit long, and thus are usually sideswept so as to be out of her eyes. She stands tall, unwavering, and both her stance and gait are rather masculine. Refia is not used to taking small, delicate steps or sitting straight-backed in a chair; indeed, she tends to take long, wide strides and recline like a grown man at a bar whenever she is seated. Her face is extremely expressive, her ruby eyes and and delicate lips never failing to convey exactly what she's feeling at that moment. Refia carries herself with a kind of tough confidence, something made easier by the way her body is built -- instead of having an overly feminine figure, she is instead tall and lean; not fat, by any means, but not stick-thin either -- underneath her clothing are the muscles from her training.
As a Freelancer, she tends to wear a long-sleeved, white, collared blouse that reaches the top of her thighs underneath a blue vest. A rectangular brooch with a cross shape clasps the vest at her collarbone -- the one item that is present in all of her outfits, no matter the job. Her blouse flares out at the bottom, lending itself to looking more like a short dress than a long top -- in lieu of pants, Refia also wears black leggings coupled with the rest of her outfit. Her red, slightly heeled boots reach her mid-thigh and are bent down at the top, becoming a white band that runs around her thigh. Her pierced ears hold a pair of silver, diamond-shaped dangling earrings. Generally, she keeps items in her vest pockets, although items that need to be concealed can be hidden in pockets on the inside of her vest, located at her waist.
Her Devout outfit is one that Refia finds incredibly embarrassing, unfortunately. Her boots remain the same, but her blouse and vest are instead replaced with a pink, slightly flared dress that reach to just above her boots. On the front, at her waist of the dress are two yellow circles with a connecting white strip. Her dress has long, white sleeves that are very similar to the sleeves on her blouse as a freelancer. Above it all is a white, hooded cape that reaches her boots, with a large black bow in the front and her brooch hidden under it -- and the hood, much to Refia's irritation, has a pair of giant cat ears on top. She hates it when people stare.
Refia's Viking uniform is radically different than her other two; on her head is a large, blue domed hat with ivory horns that are curved upward on each side of her head. She has a thick, white coat with fuzzy teal-colored lining at her neck and sleeves. Her gloves are brown. Above it is her armor -- she has a bronze, studded strip of it going over her shoulders and around her neck, with her chest armor being a deep blue. The armor covering her abdomen is bronze once more, the cross pattern of her brooch emblazoned on it. Her leggings are the same dark blue as her chest armor, and above it is a leather skirt with pieces of metal hanging atop it. Her boots are tan, the tops being lined with the same teal material as her jacket.
Personality: Refia was born rebellious -- she has always been headstrong, incredibly blunt and sometimes painfully honest. However, Refia was also born caring; she loves the people around her with all of her heart, and will not hesitate to do whatever is in her power to keep them safe and happy. As she grew up, Refia became more and more motherly -- she would always fret over her father or the children in town, making sure everyone had what they needed even at a young age. It is this trait in particular that named her as the "light of affection" -- her love for the people around her meant that she would brave almost anything for them.
As a motherly figure, however, Refia also will not hesitate to reprimand her friends. Although she may seem harsh and perhaps a bit too picky, she truly does have the interests of others at heart. She's a very good listener, and won't hesitate to offer her shoulder to anyone in need. Unfortunately, Refia can also become a bit bossy and demanding at times, especially when she's frustrated; although relatively young, she had already taken on the role of a mother hen to her friends, and generally expects to be listened to.
Two years, however, can change a person. She is still, in her core, the same young girl who went off with her three friends to save their worlds of light and dark -- but she is also rougher and more vulgar than ever. Refia has seen what happens to a world on the verge of falling apart, and the stress of it has led her to toughen herself; she has become more critical of herself, more outspoken than before, and also incredibly insecure. She saved the world once, but she feels as if she did the smallest part; compared to the other three, she felt quite useless. This has grown into a large inferiority complex, resulting in her making herself into a louder, rougher version of herself that she presents to the world.
History: Sixteen years ago, her mother and father were both proud parents -- until they were caught in an accident and killed. Their best friend, Takka the Blacksmith, was given the task to raise this child by himself -- and truly, he tried his best. He was sometimes a clumsy father, simply because he did not know what a growing girl needed; he was a man, a smith who worked metal into elegant forms -- he was not a man who was used to the delicacies of child-raising. Refia, especially, turned out to be a difficult child; she constantly escaped her father's attempts to teach her the forge, because that was the only time he could truly connect with his daughter. Not when she was crying over a scraped knee or after she broke her arm trying to put a fallen birdlet back in its nest -- only when they were both in front of the sweltering fire, hammering away at a lump of dull metal that would soon become a mighty sword or durable shield.
Refia knew that her father was trying his best to be a good dad, and she loved him immensely for it; in return, she would make sure that he got proper sleep and took baths after a long day at the forge when all he wanted to do was sleep. She made sure he kept himself healthy and that their household was running smoothly, but she couldn't help but want more out of life -- to explore the world and have adventures and maybe fall in love. She had been fourteen when the Djinn struck, and that was when she met the three boys would end up becoming her most precious people.
She had been torn -- Takka, her father, the man who had raised her even when it was not his responsibility to do so -- and the prospect of an adventure spent exploring the world and meeting new people. In the end, with her father's blessing, she ran off to accompany them; Refia saw her opportunity, and jumped at the chance once her father let her go. They had battled through the continent, gone to the Lower World and the World of Darkness -- fought Xande and defeated the Cloud of Darkness. They had started the journey as normal fourteen-year-olds, off on an adventure; in the end, they had all become world-weary and exhausted, but still exhilarated by their victory.
At least, until they all went their separate ways. Luneth and Arc returned to Ur, and -- to her surprise -- Princess Sara had asked Ingus to go on an adventure, just the two of them. Refia knew better than to interrupt that. And so, with a strangely heavy heart, she returned to Kazus and took up her father's hammer. She became a blacksmith; she became a blacksmith, known for both her skill and design. Refia occasionally traveled to study techniques of other smiths, but always returned home to her father. There was no need for her outside of Kazus any longer.
Peace, after all, had been won. She had grown distant from her friends, instead becoming more and more focused on her smithing. She did still practice her skills, the abilities that had allowed her to survive the ordeal set forth by the Cloud of Darkness, but Refia soon found that she doubted herself. Had she really helped to save the worlds? This single seed of doubt grew to consume her heart; the more self-loathing she felt, the coarser she became. Most, even her father, attributed this change to her occupation -- after all, being a blacksmith was arduous work that often led to rough-and-tumble people.
She was still kind, still caring, just coarse; there wasn't anything to worry about, right? But Refia herself knew that she both wanted and feared another chance to prove herself. She needed it to restore her former confidence; she feared it because she feared failure. It was a stroke of luck that let her live back then. When new cities began to pop up, however, Refia found herself excited and terrified. Something major was happening -- something that, maybe, could establish her worth once and for all. She was still a Warrior of Light ... right?
