Weapon:Revolver - a silver gunblade made to be wielded with one hand, with a grip resembling the handle of a gun connecting to a trigger mechanism. The winged form of Griever is etched into the blade just before it attaches to the revolving barrel, a motif that is present again in the form of a lion's head keychain attached to the base of the handle.
Lion Heart - Considerably more powerful than the Revolver, the Lion Heart is a much larger weapon, framed at the base of the blade by the carved metal figure of Griever. The blade itself is a transparent, luminescent blue, and has considerably more advanced gun capabilities than other models, bearing multiple fire settings. Despite its higher strength, however, Squall prefers the use of his Revolver.

Appearance: Squall is a young man of average height, with fair skin and ash-brown hair that falls in jagged bangs around his face. Thick, dark lashes make his blue eyes stand out in sharp contrast against the rest of his features, but the focal point of his face comes in a long, diagonal scar stretching from the middle of his forehead to midway down his nose. In clothing, he prefers dark colors - both his short jacket and pants are black, his right leg adorned with three decorative belts and his waist crisscrossed by two more. The jacket covers a simple grey T-shirt, and is trimmed at the top by a distinctive white fur collar. Black leather gloves cover both of his hands, and he wears a silver earring in each ear, a Griever pendant on a thick chain around his neck, and a ring that also bears the design of the winged lion.
Personality: A natural soldier, Squall is devoted completely to his duty and his work, with the training and efficiency to be a near-perfect SeeD. Contradictorily, he is both introverted and a capable, strong leader, able to make quick decisions under pressure when others cannot. While he prefers quiet and solitude to company, the self-made walls with which he would so often push others away aren't nearly what they used to be. Learning, slowly, to trust those around him, he has even begun to smile just a little more, and to set aside his standoffish nature. He is still quick to become irritated by foolishness, however, and his taciturnity belies his young age.
History: Squall's birth was the result of a short-lived and ill-fated romance between a Galbadian soldier and a simple woman who lived in the village of Winhill. His mother died shortly after his birth, and with his father nowhere to be found, he was sent to an orphanage on the continent of Centra, where he grew up with a handful of other orphaned children and his "sister", Ellone. Believing himself to be an orphan like them, he thought little of his parents, but instead latched completely onto his connection with his "Sis", looking to her as an ever-present stability and comfort in his life.
When he was still just a child, however, Ellone left without a word of explanation. Suddenly alone, the young boy grew detached and cynical, shutting out connections with others before they could even begin in order to protect himself from being hurt again. His closed-off nature and apparent lack of emotion made him impossible to adopt in the eyes of those who took in the orphanage's children, and finally, at the age of five, he was admitted to Balamb Garden along with his rival from the orphanage, Seifer Almasy.
Military training suited Squall far better than the calm life of the orphanage. He was an exceptional student, taking up the gunblade as his weapon of choice, despite its famous difficulty. As the years progressed, his aloofness and his rivalry with Seifer - who shared his choice in weaponry - only deepened, that antagonism providing the only real human connection he allowed in his life.
At seventeen, he finally took his SeeD exam. Passing with high marks, he soon received his first mission, to aid a Timber resistance group in their attempts to liberate their city. Strange dreams began to come over him and the SeeDs with him, then, shared dreams of a Galbadian soldier named Laguna, too vivid and real to be imagined, but their work afforded them no time to examine their oddity. Upon meeting with their employers, he met Rinoa Heartilly for the second time, that irrepressible, fiery young woman who quickly proved to be his complete opposite. Every moment he spent around her, he found himself growing more irritated, more impatient; and little by little, her untamed forcefulness started to crack his shell of ice.
Before long, before he could do anything to even get his bearings, Squall found himself caught up in something that went far beyond the simple mercenary life he had been prepared for. Leadership of his home Garden fell to his unwilling shoulders; the one who had been so quick to shut out those who came too close suddenly became the one every one of them had to rely on, and he had no choice but to rise to the necessity before him. War was stirring between Galbadia and the world, with the sorceress that had once been his gentle caretaker at the orphanage driving it before her, and Seifer stood at her side.
They fought her, Squall and the small group that had become his companions. They won, somehow. Edea fell, no longer a sorceress, no longer anything but the Matron they had all loved. But that power wasn't something that could just fade away and disappear. In exchange for their small victory, Rinoa became a sorceress herself, and nothing they could do would wake her from the state that change put her in.
Squall couldn't accept it. She was the one person who pushed him when everyone else gave up. She challenged him, fought him; when he pulled away, she pulled back. Abandoning duty, he set off to take her to Esthar, hoping to find some answers from the strange young woman who had brought them the dreams of Laguna - the woman he now remembered as "Sis", who could send the consciousness of another into the past.
He finally managed to meet up with her in the space station built to monitor the sorceress Adel, cause of the Sorceress War that had deprived so many children of their parents in his youth. But before he could get his answers, Rinoa finally awoke, possessed by a sorceress from the future who sought to use her in the same way she had used Edea. Using her body as no more than a puppet, Ultimecia freed Adel in order to use the more powerful sorceress for her own ends, leaving Rinoa to die in space.
Against all warnings and logic, Squall went to save her. Rinoa's new powers, however, were too great a threat in the eyes of Esthar. In a moment of hesitance, he let her go, taken by the nation's scientists to be sealed and contained; then in that hesitance, too late, he realized his mistake - against all of his precautions, all of the boundaries he'd so carefully put up, she'd found her way in. He'd fallen in love with her.
Unwilling to let her become a relic in a glass cage, he went to get her back. Ultimecia's plans, however, were moving forward without Rinoa; she intended to compress time into a world in which only she could exist, using Ellone as the catalyst. Deciding that the only way to stop it was to let it begin and use it to travel to Ultimecia's time, Squall and his companions finally confronted her within her own castle. The sorceress faced defeat, and finally passed on her own powers - received by Edea in the past.
Without a sense of focus to guide him in the unraveling time compression, Squall fell into a crumbling darkness, where all that existed was fear and solitude. He nearly lost himself there, would have if not for Rinoa, who found him and brought him back. Free from the threat of Ultimecia, he was once again just a SeeD, no more and no less; and more than that, he was finally learning what it meant to be human.[/blockquote]
