Advertising is one of the best ways to get the word out about Mist and Rain, but the staff can't do it all ourselves. Why would you want to help, though? Because you can get stuff for it! Every ad you post counts as one point, and you can "spend" the number of points indicated below for the corresponding reward. The same thing can be bought as many times as you'd like, as long as you have enough points! Additionally, we'll keep a constant count of how many ads each member has posted, and the top poster will be featured in this thread. There are a few rules, though: do not double post our ad - it looks bad on us, and it's easy to check and see if it's already up on a forum; make sure you use the right coding - not proboards coding for invisionfree, and vice versa; and post the ad with your forum name or the name of one of your characters here, so that we can verify that you really posted them. Just post in this thread when you get the proper amount of ads, and give me links to verify! 10 ads - custom user title 25 ads - custom icon of a character of your choice 50 ads - custom signature to your specifications
Current ads leader: Hiko with 75 ads
More rewards coming soon, and suggestions for things you'd like to see are welcome!

Just a few tips and hints as I consider myself an Ad God. Try not to go through links you can already find on our site, whether link backs or first link, because I've posted on most of the sites you can find through those already. The best way to find new sites is to use big directories like caution 2.0 and rpgd or red carpet rebellion. Look through affiliates too.
Be indiscriminate when posting, doesn't matter if it's a Firefly board, a Harry Potter board or a Twilight board. FF fans come from all walks of life and have different tastes so post anywhere.
If you find yourself on a more obscure forum host and can't figure out the center coding then just delete the problem code i.e. the or and just let the ad align to the left. It's not the end of the world and you still get to advertise us.
If you follow these tips when advertising you'll increase the chances of attracting new members simply by getting ads out everywhere and anywhere. Finally, please be aware that other forums have advertising rules that they generally want you to adhere to so try your best to do so.
Have fun promoting us!
