Races
Hume The most prominent race of Ivalice, humes are the primary race in control of its land. They are versatile and quick to adapt, but struggles for power have made some of them highly biased against those of other nations. Arguably the most complex race, but as well the most diverse.
Viera
Though most of the viera live deep within their home of the Wood, some have left and made their way in the outside world, though not without harsh criticism and disowning by those that remain in their forest home. All viera are born with silvery hair, long, rabbit-like ears, and dark skin, though the Veena Viera have considerably lighter skin than the Rava Viera, and some viera who leave the Wood choose to dye their hair. They have extremely enhanced hearing and eyesight compared to humes, and it isn't uncommon for a viera to exceed six feet in height, a trait enhanced by their long feet, which are best supported by stiletto heels. Though female viera are a considerably more common sight, male viera do exist, living in a separate village from the women. Those female viera who do remain in the wood usually live as either Wood-Warders or Salve-Makers: warriors or healers.
Moogle
A race of tiny, animal-like creatures, moogles are covered in fur and have long, wide, rabbit-like ears, and a pompom dangling from their heads, which varies in color from individual to individual. Moogles have small, batlike wings that allow them to fly, and are often found working in technical jobs, Mooglecraft being the primary source of airships in Ivalice.
Bangaa
A lizardlike race of height comparable to humes, bangaa tend to have a more muscular build, with skin covered in scales, long snouts filled with small, sharp teeth, and long, split ears. Different types of bangaa are named by their color: Rugua Bangaa are yellow, Fierce Bangaa blue, Bista Bangaa red, and Sanga Bangaa grey, though any former classification of personality based on color has become irrelevant due to the amount of bangaa of mixed blood.
Seeq
A race of large, piglike people, with the women built slightly different from the men. Their leathery hides can vary in color, but all have a single horn atop their heads and long, pointed ears. Seeq usually wear little, with a loincloth-like piece of clothing accompanied by a skirt being their normal attire.
Garif
A desert-dwelling race who wear masks from the day they are born to the day of their deaths. They have extensive knowledge of magicite from the lore passed down from generation to generation.
Nu Mou
The Nu Mou are a race of small, highly intelligent beings, with blue skin, white fur, and wide tails topped with gold hair. Their long ears split a little more than halfway down, then close at the bottom, forming rings. Their race's lore includes knowledge of the espers, and the majority of them are to be found on Mt. Bur-Omisace, among the mountain's Kiltias.
