I thought it would make good discussion to talk about Final fantasy spin-off's that just have to be made.
FFX and FFX-2 are my favourite Final Fantasy games easily ( FF8 comes close though ) and it's really bothered me how they haven't made one chronicling the adventures of Braska, Jecht, and a younger Auron. They tell so many stories throughout the game of things that these three did and I don't know about the rest of you but I'd love to play through them myself.

You know, a backstory for X on the DS could work out really well. Personally, I'd rather see one of Yunalesca's time, but hey, anything's great. <3
I wouldn't mind seeing a prequel game set during the War of the Magi, for VI, and maybe a sidestory sort of game for Faris, post-V - but I'd prefer seeing them as game add-ons, like with how Squeen did with "Soul of Rebirth" on the GBA port of FF and FFII. Not a full-fledged game on its own, but rather a sort of epilogue (or in the case of VI, make it an unlockable prologue).

I totally wanted a Braska story since I first played through the game and wondered why they never made a prequel. I agree though X and X-2 are 2 and 3 of my top three just beaten by IX. I think IX could have had a Prequel or even some spin off sequel though I don't have a clue what it would be. VII has an aweful lot of spin-offs though. Crisis Core, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus - it's a shame no other game has had the same attention although I think it's fair to say Fabula nova Crystallis is kinda heading that way except that the stories don't link quite as directly rather they just share a world ( i think).

That would be pretty effing amazing. Their story is just so INTERESTING...but it'd be like another Crisis Core, with the way it would have to end. Worse, considering that none of them survived. But I still waaaaant it. ;o; I love all of them~

Same - like the whole idea of jecht being an alcoholic and attacking a shoopuf and stuff - it'd make a great game!

I think it would be cool to maybe see what happened to Zanarkand during Lenne and Shuyin time.

I never really understood the mass obsession over the universe of VII at all. I agree it was a chronic game just like all the other Final Fantasy's but I didn't think it deserved a large handful of spin-off games and a movie. If I was going to watch any Final Fantasy in movie form I'd want to see VIII, if only for the heart-touching Squall and Rhinoa scene's with the beautiful music.

Advent Children was amazing because it was just stunningly made but the original was really confusing even if you had played the game - the complete version is much better and makes a lot more sense. I understand the prequel because there was so much history surronding Zack and sephiroth and all the other guys. I own Dirge of Cerberus but I haven't actually played it at all so I can't comment there though to be fair I played through VII without ever having Vincent.

I'm kinda ehhh about the VII Collection. VII was great for its time, and really showed off Square's strengths, but I was never able to really enjoy it. I dunno. Out of the Playstation era, IX was probably my favorite - and even then, I've always enjoyed the older games more. Well, expect for XII. But I can't not love the Leading Man. <3 Ahem. I sidetracked myself. -- As far as Advent Children is concerned, I didn't see much of a need for the story. But, hey, whatever gets Squeen the funds to work on new material.

Hiko, that's because YOU didn't finish VII. XD The ending is good, but it feels cut off and unfinished. AC was really necessary to clarify exactly what happened. I think I would've gone crazy without it.

XD is XII actually good? I played it for like 2 hours and gave up because the battle system was a total let down. That and the moogles looked WRONG!

I love XII. I love it insane amounts. Sure, I may have a very large bias for Balthier (there's a reason I play the man), but it was just REALLY GOOD. I didn't mind the battle system at all once I got used to it, and the moogles...well, they're just Ivalice moogles. And REALLY CUTE. XD You get used to it, I promise!

XD is XII actually good? I played it for like 2 hours and gave up because the battle system was a total let down. That and the moogles looked WRONG! Ivalice moogles are... moogle-ish. I'll admit, when I first saw their rabbity faces in FF Tactics Advance, I argued with the game. By the time I saw them in XII, I was already used to them. The battle system... Aheh. I'll be honest. I set up the gambits to fight the battles without me in the room. I hate grinding, but I know it's necessary, so I just let the game have at it, and then I just hunted out a save crystal every so often. The story is the game's strongest point. The characters are easily some of the best Square has made in a long time - by which I mean to say, so many of them remind me of former games and old archetypes, and yet they also make solid ground as their own characters with very detailed personalities. The fact that it all takes place in Ivalice, in a setting that I grew to love in Final Fantasy Tactics, well. That's just icing on the proverbial cake.
