And so the mouse did run. This place it was strange and it was new. They called the city Edge. After everything happened, this Merge, she traveled around making a nuisance of herself. Being born of the Federation of Windurst her alliance toward these events were clear. She was raised Windurstrian and was born a Mithra, so her end goals were wholly selfish. In the truly Windustrian style she sought to learn about all these new places, but she had visited very few. She stuck to familiar locale, the mix of monsters horrifying for the beast tamer. In leather garbs of red and tan the catgirl raced through Edge's streets. The streets reminded her of the city of Bastok. She wondered how it had changed since she had last visited?
'Come back here!!'
A voice shouted. As if she would stop! She was curious so she touched it! It was some strange food. It happened to fall in her mouth. As she raced across the city of Edge the girl took in the sights. She really could not read the words or letters marked on the signs, but she guessed they led places! She followed along until she came upon a curious view. It was ruins. Now the adventurer in her sparkled at the invitation.
"What do you think, Pip?" She spoke out as a deep purr rumbled in her throat. Standing beside her was a black Onion related to the Mandragora family. A small, black, Homunculus. It was a strange creature born from the amalgamation of an Onion's seed and weird concoctions. The Mandragora danced in place, bobbing its arms and head, looking up to the woman with his empty eyes. "Ah, that's creepy Pip." She picked him up in her arms.
Behind, her tail lashed about, at the end a bow was tied off giving her a rather charming air, even if she was a mischievous and troublesome lass. This place.... someone had to know about those ruins, right? She would look for someone who looked like a scholar! They knew everything, at least for someone born in a Federation comprised of scholars. But as she looked around no one really gave that appeal...

(( I am assuming these are the Midgar ruins, right?))
“Well, well, what do we have here?”
Instead of any scholars, the only person of a real notability to be found lurking around the mithra’s immediate area was a man.
To be precise, it was a man who appeared to be fast approaching laundry day, if the rumbled state of his black and white attire was anything to go by. His vividly red hair didn’t seem to fare much better than his clothing--so tousled it was by the wind, that it barely managed to be contained by the tie at the nape of his neck.
The man stood several feet away from the mithra, perched precariously on a towering pile of crumbled asphalt and steel piping. The thumb of his left hand was hooked through the belt loop of his pants. In his right other hand, he casually gripped a metallic rod. He watched the mithra from the higher vantage point, with an amused grin plasterd across his face.
“I gotta ask...” He spoke again, only giving pause long enough to drag his eyes, from head to toe and back again, along the mithra’s frame, “What is a pretty girl like you doin’ in a dump like this?”

Could not wait to go exploring. She could see the high towers and crumbling landscape. Ruins were always a paradise for those like her. She knew there had to be hidden treasure! This would turn out great!!
Blinked her sapphire blue eyes and looked down toward the fellow. She perked her feline ears and arched a brow. Who was this kid? He looked really short for a Hume, or what were they called, human here? He was still short, and loud! That hair! It was way too fancy. Had to be Elvaan in his blood. She scratched the side of her head as her Onion sat there, squeaking softly.
"Dump? Don't you know treasurrre when you see it?" She really wondered about this guy! She crossed her arms over her chest and shook her head as she let out a sight.
As the flirtatious words went straight over her head she stood on her unsteady perch. She put her hands on her hips and held up her head. "I am an adventurrrer dontcha know?" She seemed quite proud of her proclamation.
The Mithra jumped down and landed with a light thump Her leather boots kicked up some dust and her tail swayed behind her. She examined the male with scrutiny. "Who are you anyway?" He looked weird, even for a human.

“The name’s Reno,” the man grinned, “And being a local, I think I have a pretty good idea about what kind of treasures can be found ‘round here--could say I’m here because of that. But you, sweetheart, you are adventuring far from home.”
He then made his way down from the pile of rubble upon which he stood, and onto the pavement of the beaten road. With ambling steps, he approached the mithra. As he came to a stop some three or four feet away from the girl, he lifted the rod he held in his right hand and brought it to rest upon his shoulder. He gave his shoulder two taps before he cocked his head to the side and gazed at the mithra. There was suspicion in his gaze, as well as curiosity. He’d encountered mithra before--seen a few during his reconnaissance missions through Kazham (one of the new villages that now neighbored Edge). Where was it that these cat girls came from, again? he wondered, Windhurst? Admittedly, Reno found himself to be curious about these women, and he would not deny that some of that curiosity (a lot, more like) stemmed from their looks. Mithra were freakin’ hot.
Yet, when he spoke aloud, his tone was on the chastising side of friendly, “You don’t know the kinds of nasty things that lurk ‘round here. Wouldn’t wanna find yourself biting off more than you can chew... Or creating an international incident, for that matter.” He stepped forward again, moving to stand alongside the mithra, but facing the direction from which the girl came. He did not look at the mithra as he kept his gaze ahead; where several yards away, a large sign stood.
“This area’s off limits to adventurers, you know.” He paused shortly, and shifted his gaze back toward the mithra, to look at her from out the corner of his eyes.
“Then again,” Reno mused with a note of understanding, “I s’pose you don’t know. Can’t read our signs, I take it?”
And then, without any segue, he turned to fully face the mithra. A cheeky grin crosses his face as he said, “Anyways, since I gave you my name, you gonna give me yours?”

((OOC: lol cuz she was up high really should of detaield that more but for whatever reason....))
She pushed her bonnet up for the tiny Onion was weighing it down. When she lifted her bonnet the Onion squeaked and looked toward the Hume with its empty eyes. So creepy... Its black body contrasted those glowing white eyes. Atop his head his leaves were newly sprouted and occasionally twitched. It was hard to guess at her body's shape due to her current attire. It was more meant for traveling so it was lose and had colors good for camouflage. She had left her heavier combat gear back in Kazham. She would likely have it sent to her once she got a handle on this place. Her azure eyes were striking against those dark, tiger-like stripes that marked her face.
She tilted her head. Now she understood the common language, she did travel, but not as well as she understood Sarutabarutan or Mithran. She scratched at her cheek and grinned. When her lips pulled back her pearly fangs could be seen clearly. For Mithra these humans were not really all that appealing. They lacked the aspects they looked for in males and were quite old fashioned in that sense. Not knowing what roamed around was half the fun and all of the adventure. Beneath the bonnet her ears perked and her head gave an adorable tilt. She seemed to frown slightly It was not permitted to explore? This was not new for her. There were plenty of ruins back home that were sacred ground or far too dangerous for someone of her skill level.
At his second question she shook her head. Though she could... speak and understand the common language she could not read it. Being raised in Windurst she could only read the Star Language and her native language (though not as well as the Star). She folded her arms behind her head and laughed, ehr tail raising up, the end twitching, causing the bow to dance.
"Ah, no, she can only rrrread the language of the Starrrs." She purred roguishly. Well it seemed she had an obvious feeling that this place was likely sacred. Adventurers were not that dumb. They knew treasure when they saw it. She blinked. Now that she was on the ground she could better see the Hume was pretty normal sized. Mithra were not very big compared to other races. Their bodies were built for speed and agility. They were about the same height as the maximum of a human female.
"Oh," She chirped and saluted with a grin. "They call me Malix, this is my Homonculus!" Her accent was obvious. Being from the Eastern continents she had a certain manner to her speech, but at least it was not the complex Sarutabarutan that the Tarus rhymed with in order to cast their spells. "I am a Beastmaster." Now that was a strange 'job' or place to have.
She giggled and peered around Reno toward the ruins. "They don't look all that special. Why can't she explorrre them? Dangerrrous?" When she rolled the r of the last word her tongue seemed to brush against her lip hungrily. She was fueled by adventure and the thought of even being disallowed brightened her naughty thoughts considerably. By their very nature they were mischievous.

Ugh, I'm FINALLY home! It had been a long trip, but it had been rather successful. She had found out a lot of new information about how l'Cie are created, and what happens with their Focus. If they fail, they turn into vicious monsters that are doomed to wander the planet. If they succeed, they turn to crystal, and are doomed to stay that way for eternity. He can't win! Mina was determined to find a way to break the curse that had been put upon Rufus, but she had to report in to Reno first.
The Turk easily wound her way through the familiar streets, taking in everything around her. She passed a small group of grumbling men, sliding sideways to avoid them. Smirking a little as they continued on their way, she rolled her eyes as she overheard them complaining about being outfoxed by a cat. A cat? You couldn't catch a CAT? She was thankful that her own coworkers were more successful than these men. Making it to the ruins, she stopped when she heard a voice speaking. “This area’s off limits to adventurers, you know. Then again, I s’pose you don’t know. Can’t read our signs, I take it?”
I know that voice! Recognizing the tones of Reno, the more seductive tones of Reno, Mina strode purposefully forward. He could hear another unfamiliar voice, a female voice with a strange accent, answering him. Coming around the last pile of rubble, she grinned as a shock of red hair came into view. She wasn't sure if he had seen her, as he had turned to face the woman next to him the moment she saw him. Tilting her head curiously, she continued to advance towards the pair, listening as Reno teased her about not giving him her name. Typical Reno.
As she got closer, not taking care to hide her approach but still stepping softly (which was normal for her, considering she made a living as an assassin), it wasn't until she got a couple of feet away that she figured out what she was seeing. Staring at the tail that grew from the young woman - Malix - Mina simply blinked in surprise. A cat-woman, with a small onion-type creature as a homonculus. Interesting. Bringing her attention back to Reno, she saw that he was still staring at Malix with a different type of interest. At least...that was what it looked like based on his history with women.
Sliding up next to the stranger without a word, she stared at Reno for half a second before reaching up and smacking the taller man across the back of the head sharply. "Pay attention!" she snapped, not caring that she was technically striking a superior officer. Letting out a tiny huff of irritation, she turned back to Malix and looked her over once. "So, you're an adventurer? Where...are you from?" She had no idea if it had already been touched on or not, but her gaze was inexplicably drawn back to the tail behind the young lady. I wonder what that feels like. But she kept her curiosity to herself.

“Malix...” Reno rolled the word across his tongue in a drawl. It was a strange name, but fitting. It went well with the woman’s exotic looks--well, that is, what he could see of them. For the most part, her figure was hidden under her loose fitting clothing. But her face, it was a cute one with those crystal blue eyes against her tanned skin and darker markings. A part of Reno wondered what that skin would feel like under his fingers.
"They don't look all that special. Why can't she explorrre them? Dangerrrous?" she had said as she peered around him, looking toward the ruins of Midgar beyond.
So, the pretty kitty likes danger...
There was something about the way she purred the word dangerous that stirred something within Reno--that a knot of excitement which always tightened within Reno’s belly whenever things were about to turn interesting... Truth be told, Reno loved danger; he revelled in the surge of adrenaline that coursed through him when situations got hairy. It was why he took so well to his life as a Turk.
“Oh, it’s dangerous,” his voice pitched lower, more seductive, when he answered her question, “Very dangerous... But, if yer so set on checkin' it out, I could show ya around.
Already, a half-formed plan was starting to string together in his mind. Notions of places to go with, danger to find, things to do...
And suddenly those thoughts were derailed when someone took that moment to smack Reno upside the back of his head.
“Pay attention!” It was Mina’s voice, and she did not sound at all pleased.
“Guah!” Reno grunted as he lurched and stumbled a step forward from the force of the blow. It was not very hard, but it was enough to sting a little. “Dammit,” Reno hissed as he straightened and brought a hand to rub the back of his head, “Mina... What gives, interruptin' your boss like that?”
But Reno’s question went unanswered as the other Turk ignored him. Instead, Mina had turned to Malix and asked the Mithra, "So, you're an adventurer? Where...are you from?"
Effectively cockblocked, Reno could only stand aside and suppress a grumble as the two women continued the conversation.

Looked between the two. At first, to the feline, they appeared to be quarreling lovers. But at Reno's mention of 'boss' he appeared to be her leading commander or something. He did not look all that special. Did not commanders normally wear signs of their superiority? She knew in the Federation that was the case. Higher guards often wore the banners and tabards marked with the country's Sacred symbol: The Star Tree. She did not wear such things when she was travelling. Carrying the country's flag and getting into the trouble she liked getting into was a bad mix that could stir international scandal. Adventurers were typically not regarded under these laws because of their habit of getting into things they really should not.
She folded her arms behind her head and smirked. "Name's Malix...." She greeted the woman. "She's frrrom Windurst." Atop her head the Onion squeaked, which caused the azure eyed feline to blink. "Ah, this is my Homonculus Mandragora." It was a rather creepy creature, but when it was introduced it blinked and squeaked before staring off once again, lifelessly. It continued to simply belly-sit on her bonnet, comfortable.
The cat girl jumped back before she twirled around on her heel, the skin boots making not a sound as she leapt up onto some higher placed debris. Her tail stood up in he air as she looked off. The red ribbon tied off was perfectly snug so did not jostle much with her motions. "So... boss, ya wanna tell Malix about the rrruins?" She smirked before folding her arms behind her back and smiling brightly.
She may have been completely not attracted to a Hume, or human, male, but she knew how to use her impressive charming skills. Maybe men were comparable to beasts? Would they be an easy species to tame? She shrugged her shoulders and tilted her head.
"It would be nice to see this place, she came a long way afterrr all~" She giggled. She was more interested in the ruins and the fact they appeared to be sacred. For a Mithra it was fair to be considerate about someone's sacred land, but to the adventurer in her it was profane.

A small smirk touched Mina's lips at Reno's reaction to her strike, but she kept her attention focused on Malix. She could hear Reno grumbling under his breath, but didn't really care what he had to say. Really, the guy enjoys women FAR too much...no matter what race they are! She blinked in surprise as the black creature on top of the cat spoke, as she hadn't noticed that the onion could speak. "I...see." she said as she was properly introduced to it, but it seemed to go back to not caring about what was going on. What a strange creature.
The woman even moved like a cat as she made her way a little higher. Mina's attention was drawn to the tail once more as she moved, and she barely even noticed before Malix spoke to Reno again. She had never seen a human crossed with a cat before. A rabbit-woman? Sure. Various other lizard or animal crosses? Occasionally. But never a cat. She seemed extremely interested in the ruins, and Mina crossed her arms before returning her attention to Reno. What's he going to say? She seemed innocent enough, but then again so did Mina at times. And she was an assassin!
The Turk just wanted to find out more about the cat, but she had a feeling Reno was going to...escort...the little kitty through the ruins. That way he could spend more time with her, and the cat could see the ruins. Everybody won. Though Mina would have very little choice but to accompany them, if only to keep Reno in check. She actually found herself missing him while she was away, along with Rude and Elena and Tseng. She was closer with the original members of the Turks than any of the other recruits along the way, though she had no idea if that closeness ran both ways.
"Why do you want to see these ruins so badly? They're just that - ruins. There isn't anything of interest here." It wasn't true, there was always something that interested somebody in ruined cities, but maybe she could find out the reason that the cat was pushing to see these particular ones.

In the months following the Merge, and with the confusion that followed, information and intelligence gathering had become a leading priority for the Turks. The other priority: recruitment and training of enough personnel to be able to handle Turk affairs both at home and abroad. Forward a year later, and that which had once been dwindled down to a small unit in the days prior to the Merge had grown into a multi-sub-departmental investigation agency, headquartered in Edge, and operating as a division separate from ShinRa’s main office (which was no headquartered in Junon). In the grand scheme of things, the Turks were still a small elite task force; however, they were now more numerous than they had been in a very long time. And somewhere along the way, an addition to his own normal duties, Reno had ended up being the one charged with supervising the Turk’s own brand of boot camp.
As for what he was doing out near the ruins today? He was directing a training exercise, and at the moment, two rookie teams were running the obstacle course through the ruins. For this purpose, Reno was equipped with a throat mic and a wireless earbud receiver--both of which were hidden by his clothing and wild hair, respectively. The training mission was why the area was off limits, and also why Reno had intercepted the mithra as soon as her presence had been detected and reported to him over radio. However, while he had come to assess the interloper, to find out what had brought her into the area and eliminate her if needed be, who’s to say he couldn’t have a little fun in the process?
So chat up the Mithra he did.
Reno had spared a glance at the homunculus when it squeaked, but was otherwise unphased by its presence. He’d heard reports regarding the existence of people who could tame wild monsters to obey their command--beastmasters, were they called?--and had encountered a couple later during his field missions. He kenw enough to be wary of such creatures, yet, this was the first time he’d seen a pet that looked quite like that.
Just what is that, anyway? It looked as though some onion’s shadow has decided to spout limbs only to perch itself atop the mithra’s head. He had to admit, the two made a cute pair like that--in a creepy way.
"So... boss, ya wanna tell Malix about the rrruins?" The mithra had asked after she’d leapt atop a pile of debris, "It would be nice to see this place, she came a long way afterrr all~"
Reno could appreciate the mithra’s show of acrobatism as she leapt atop the pile of rubble with such ease. He could see that she was quick with her feet, and he wondered silently about what other areas the women could prove so nimble.
Yet, aloud, he only gave his shoulders a lazy shrug as he responded to her question about the ruins. “If yer lookin’ for somethin’ to sell, there ain't much to find here anymore--just concrete, steel, rats, and whatever wild animal that’s decided to call it home. Place has been pretty much picked dry by scavengers.”
“Sir,” a dryly acerbic--and thicky accented--voice chose that moment to crackle over the radio receiver in Reno’s ear. It was the training exercise’s monitoring technician, Dr. Deidrick Johann Eisler. “As much as I telight in being subjectet to dis line of confersation, I must interject: De Blue team has capturet ze target.”
It was then that Reno realized he had left his throat mic turned on. Dammit.

Had properly introduced herself. SHe was raised a good girl, but she could not help her inborn nature to be naughty. It was just like a human not to see the treasure in everything. He explained how the ruins were already subjugated to the whims of vultures, but they were not true treasure hunters. Her blue eyes drifted between the woman and male. The way they acted, it was familiar. They were like warriors, but not explicitly baring their fangs. It was akin to the manner the Sybil Guards behaved back home in Windurst. The Federation was an advanced country when it came to gathering and storing knowledge. She felt proud that her country were one of he leading experts in magic. Even after the Merge she had only heard of one other country that could possibly stand to rival her own.
"Rrrats are nice to make food for my pets." She smirked. "But it is also a matter of learrrning. Knowledge is important for the prrrogression of a purrson's existence in this world and the next." She purred at her spoken words. they were lessons of Windurstrian nature. For them knowledge was held above anything else. It was the pursuit of this knowledge that oft got them in trouble. Coupled with the playful nature of the Mithra? It was trouble waiting to happen.
She folded her arms behind her back, the action rolled her shoulder muscles and loosened her back as the bones popped within their sockets. The feline limbered her form in the discreet manner, offering a lazy yawn indicative of a feline species. Her jaws parted in a yawn, revealing her nature as hunters. Her canines were longer than other creatures and if not for her more humanized form she could be considered a beastmen. She stretched her arms over her head. The Homunculus squeaked and looked up. It blinked its large eyes when the mic sparked up with noise, seeming to carry some sort of urgent message. How did they do that? Talking without being face to face? Was it like they did with orbs and stuff? Usually the words were written in Star Language though...
Malix would be patient for now. The ruins would not move. She could not go exploring just yet in this gear. It was not safe without her combat armor. If that area was considered a ruin, it could very well suffer from danger. She smiled as the kitten seemed to come running up to their boss. Trouble? It sounded like fun. "Ooh, what's up here? You guys explorrrin'?" She felt a bit jealous they were already finding all the fun things! The Homunculus squeaked. Malix reached up and picked it up off her head, setting him down beside her. It stood there and did a creepy little dance. He leered at the female Turk with great interest, or simply happened to be looking in that direction. It was hard to tell.
She motioned her hand too. "What kidna magic is that anyway?" She pointed to Reno's neck.

Reno took a step back in surprise when the Malix suddenly rushed toward him. She removed the humoncolus from her head before proceeding to gesticulate toward his neck and ask, “What kidna magic is that anyway?"
Reno blinked, She heard that?
But then, his eyes strayed to the top of her head where the woman’s cat-like ears perked this way and that as she took in the surrounding sounds.Of course she can hear that, Reno realized, Probably can a whole lot of stuff with those...
And an idea sparked...
The girl looks pretty nimble, and she seemed fairly set on having herself an adventure through the ruins. He had a feeling that if he continued to try to dissuade her from venturing further, she’d only want to explore Midgar all the more. Reno knew the type--hell, he was that type. Still is, in some ways. Most of his profession life was spent bucking the system. The only reason he probably never got terminated--permanently or otherwise--was because, when it came down to it, he was still damned good as the nitty-gritty part of being a Turk. In the end, he got it done, even if his methods were not always conventional or authorized.
And speaking of unconventional and unauthorized...
If there Mithra was so intent on exploring the ruins, short of killing her, there was probably nothing he could do to stop the woman. Although killing was always an option, it was on that Reno did not particularly feel like choosing at the moment. Not when there was another more entertaining one to consider. If the girl was going to be treasure hunting through the runs, why not make use of the situation and give her a treasure to hunt for?
These so-called Adventerers were all about quests, weren't they?
Reno’s expression pulled into a lazy, if what somewhat devious, smile as he returned his gaze back toward the mithra’s face. “Magic? Nope. Nothing like that, at all. It’s Shinra Technology...”
“Aaaand” He drawled out, “Were not exactly explorin’...” Reno paused then, and foisted a evaluative look over Malix’s frame as he seemed to be considering something. “I’ll tell ya what... I’ll let you in on what’s goin’ on ‘round here. I’ll also let you have your run of the ruins. Hell, you can even keep whatever treasure you find along the way! But... This is if, and only if, you can do me a little”--he lifted his hand to hold his thumb and forefinger a scant inch apart--“favor in return.”
“Sir?” Eisler’s voice crackled over Reno’s earbud once again, “Vat is dis you are dinking?
But the Turk did respond to the technician just yet; instead, he wanted to first see how Malix would respond, "What do ya say? Feel like goin' on a quest?"

Mina stayed where she was as Reno continued to talk to Malix about the ruins. Her only movements were to cross her arms and narrow her eyes at him as he completely railroaded over her question, that the woman didn't seem inclined to answer now. Thanks, Reno. As she glared at the red-head, she watched curiously as he seemed to freeze and stare at nothing. What is he doing? As she was looking at Reno, she would have missed the intriguing movements the feline, which would have definitely caught her attention. Though when the creature spoke, with the purr still evident in her voice, Mina turned back to watch her carefully.
The black Homunculus was still perched on Malix's head, until she reached up and plucked it off to place on the ground beside her. Blinking silently, she stared it down until it unnerved her and she looked back to the cat. "It's looking at me." she stated bluntly, but refused to look at it any longer. It wasn't until Malix moved forward and gestured to the mic that Reno wore that Mina realized what must have happened.
Her eyes narrowed even more at his lack of intelligence, and fought back the urge to hit him again. "That has been on this entire time?" she growled lowly, and her arms dropped from in front of her chest. What is he DOING out here? Mina took a deep breath as Reno started to scheme, seeing the signs instantly. Watching his movements carefully, both the obvious and the less so, and listening to changes in his voice, all she could do was wonder what kind of 'quest' he was going to ask her to do.
"Sir? Are you sure about this?" Whatever it was, it likely wasn't sanctioned. Now I'll REALLY have to go with them. Glancing back at the Homunculus, she sighed as she found it still looking at her. Stepping farther away from it and closer to the other pair, she looked back to Malix. "Why is it looking at me like that?" she asked as she gestured towards the creature.

The Mithra was very intuitive. The red-haired human must be quite wise. Mithra were notorious for doing as you do, rather than what you said. They were troublemakers. Though oft times times harmless, there were times they could be the root of many problems. They were stubborn and would rush in head first without thinking their actions all the way through. they thought best on their feet. She was no different, even when raised under the shade of the Star Tree. The Homunculus could not help its stares, it really had no expressions to speak of, most Mandragora did not. It would finally blink and take a few steps forward after Malix drew herself closer to Reno. The tiny, black plant creature stayed close to its master, just beside the swishing tail. It had a little dance id did as it stood. Its little arms swayed in tandem to its head and body.
Malix titled her head at Reno's proposal. It seemed the human knew the fastest way to the Mithra's heart! She was predisposed to adventure! Open invitation from a country's people to raid their ruins? That was an open pass to a festival! This would not be something the lass passed up. Though she was without her combat gear, this would do. She still had her axe. It was a bit discreet due to its smaller size. The weapon was rested on her hip, a tiny hatchet, that was jumbled beside her satchel and other miscellaneous gear. It was not obvious but if one was searching her body it could easily be noticed.
She deliberated this before she scratched at her chin. "Alrrright~" She purred. "You gotch'erself a deal!" She found great prospect in this. She still did not get this technology but the idea of getting lovely shinies was there. Purrfect!

Reno grinned, “Awesome.”
The mithra seemed eager to storm the ruins, and Reno wondered if her eagerness would really drive her to agree to his quest. Later, he’s probably get some flack for what he was about to do, but, he wasn’t particularly worried about the Mithra uncovering any Shin-Ra secrets. The Turks had already scoured the place, re-buried the secrets they could, and destroyed that which they could not.
However, rumor did have that mithra had very keen senses--more so than humans (mako enhanced or not). He wondered if this woman could find anything the Turks and WRO combined might have missed during cleanup. If not, no harm done by her exploring the ruins.
But, if she did manage to sniff-out any secrets, he would have to burn that bridge when he came to it.
Most likely, he would make sure that the mithra permanently disappeared. However, that might not be the only option. Lately, Reno had been toying with the idea of thinking outside the box when it came to Turk recruitment. There existed many unknown factors within this merged world. New governments, new allegiances, new enemies--all vying to gain the upper hand and secure the planet’s resources as their own. In this new world, the Turks had discovered (the hard way) that they were not the only sharks swimming in this pool. It was during more recent missions that the Turks has found themselves facing operatives sent from unknown agencies. As of yet, investigation efforts had failed to find any real leads toward who was directing those agents. However, the Turks had found rumors about a syndicate operation being conducted out of the remains of Cocoon, as well as sightings of what might be a rogue al-bhed faction hiding in the deserts south of the Gold Saucer. If the ShinRa company had any plans of staying in the game post merge, they needed to get a handle on these new agencies. In order to do this, Reno was seriously considering looking outside the people of the PLANET for recruitment.
In part, Reno wondered if Malix was really a foreign operative sent to suss out ShinRa. If so, he’d eliminate the woman. However, if she truly was what she claimed to be--an adventurer--he wondered about the possibilities of recruiting the Mithra. Still, all this would all depend on if the girl even had what it took to be a Turk, in the first place. This quest would serve as her proving ground.
So without much ado, he got right to business. “Now, as ya know, I’ve got people down in the ruins. Not too many--about six--if none of ‘em managed to do somethin' stupid.” Reno took that moment to pass a snarky grin toward Malix before he continued.
“We’re all here playin' a trainin' game. It's kinna like capture the flag--have ya heard of it? There’s two teams: one red, one blue. Each have a target to protect. While at the same time, they’ve gotta infiltrate the other team’s base and steal the opposing target. The team who secures both targets wins the game. What I want you to do is make things a little more interesting, by adding a third player to the game."
"Malix. You're mission, should you choose to accept it, is to sneak into the ruins and steal the targets from both teams.”
