~Sabin~
Zozo had been damaged rather harshly when the Merge had happened. The already gloomy city had become even worse off. Even more citizens had become homeless and further lives ruined. Still, such a horrible fate had caused the citizens to start working together a little more. There were still plenty of sneaky, untrustworthy people, but everyone needed a home at this point.
Time had gone by since the Merge and buildings were being brought back up. The inn and the apartment buildings had managed to stay standing for the most part. Sabin was quite surprised as he had finally made his way back to Zozo.
Ever since the Merge, Sabin had been making his way to all the different cities he could manage reaching. He wanted to see the new sights, help all the new people, and hopefully train his body and mind even further.
Just as he walked into the inn he heard a scream from outside. He wasted no time in running out of the inn and into the dark streets of Zozo. His eyes widened as he saw a citizen on the ground, cringing as a dog-like monster stood over him, ready to tear him to shreds.
"Hey, mutt, over here! C'mon, c'mon!" Sabin grinned as the monster lunged over the man and went to claw him. The martial artist quickly ducked, bringing his fist up and hitting the monster hard in the jaw, sending it flying.
"M-m-monsters! There are more monsters!" The scared man who had been on the ground quickly jumped up and ran into a nearby building as more monsters began to appear.
"Gah, this is ridiculous. This place was never so infested before!"
((Open to any/all others who wish to reply. ^^))

OOC: Okay, since this one is still open and no one has replied to it as of yet, I'm going to use this one as sort of my 'getting back into things' section until someone maybe decides to jump in. This way, I also don't have to worry about it possibly negatively effecting another section of the rp. ^^ Hope this is all right for all mods.
~Sabin~
The young martial artist grew a little tired as he spun around, bringing the back of his fist against another hound's face, sending it tumbling to the ground roughly and rolling a couple feet away. *That's 12 all ready.* He thought to himself as his breaths came out a bit ragged at this point.
He had managed to take down the first five without any trouble, but it seemed as though the monsters were coming in slow yet steady waves without stop. Glancing around, he found himself grateful at the fact that all the citizens had managed to hide away in safety within the tall buildings.
His eyes caught sight of the hound to his left, but too late as he was forced to raise his arm high, catching the monster's teeth on his forearm. Giving a wince, he accepted the pain of the monster's strong jaw forcing it's teeth deeper into his flesh. Two others were coming towards him from the front as the other one tried to keep him occupied, continuing to tighten it's jaw on his arm.
"Grrr, this isn't good!" He kept a close eye on the two hounds, waiting for his opportunity. At the same time, both of the monstrous hounds leapt at him, baring their sharp claws and aiming to slash through him.
In a quick movement, Sabin brought his arm close to his chest, breaking it away from the monster's jaw as he grabbed a hold of it and jumped high in the air where he spun the monster upside down and brought it crashing down to the ground on top of the other two.
Breathing heavily, he tumbled backwards and knelt on the ground, his left arm bleeding steadily as he looked around, wondering if he had actually finished off the unexpected assault on the city.
OOC2: Okay, so, hope this works and is okay with everyone. ^^ Still open-ended for anyone who may wanna jump in. ^^

{*Fuujin*}
A sharp, satisfying whelp tore from the creature as the platinum-haired fighter slammed her boot into its soft underbelly, kicking it clear out of the alley. The monster hit the perpendicular street hard and rolled a several feet further before settling limply, alive but immobile. The woman pivoted swiftly just as a second fiendish canine lunged at her, and in one fluid movement raked the sharp prongs of her pinwheel up the beast’s body, slicing it open from stomach to chest as it lept and flinging it over her shoulder to join its brother in the street.
Fuujin stopped and straightened, her breaths heavy in her chest and her body chilled and soaked to the bone beneath the seemingly endless rain. How many was that now? That wasn’t even including the thugs she had beat down on her way in…
Maybe it was finally over.
Posture erect with dignity, she clutched her weapon and stepped over the bodies of the monsters, blood and grit clinging to her shoes. Her left shoulder was bleeding from a bite wound, but she paid no mind to it – it didn’t hurt much, anyway.
So this was Zozo….it wasn’t very friendly, that was for sure.
Calm and level, Fuujin stepped back out into the main street, glancing one direction that led out of town, then turning her attention the opposite way. There, she was met with the sight of a man, crouched near a pile of lupine bodies, his arm bleeding quite heavily. She regarded him neutrally for a long moment, then scanned the surrounding areas.
There didn’t seem to be any more hungry monsters lurking nearby. The man would be fine.
Deciding this, Fuujin turned her back to the stranger, walking the opposite direction. Her steps were steady, but not in any hurry.
Her information had led her to this damn place, but now she was thinking it a dead end. And a hell of a lot more trouble than she had bargained for…
She didn’t even want to stop for a drink, not knowing the riff-raff she’d find within the tavern. At this point, she was just ready to get out of here…

~Sabin~
The young martial artist gave a light sigh, finally standing back up as he felt the rain steadily wash the blood off of his arm. He had heard movements in the rainy streets behind him. A mixture of monster and human. Looking back he saw a platinum-haired woman walking away. He instantly noticed the wound on her shoulder and began heading towards her.
"Hey, you okay?" He tried calling to her as the rain started to fall heavier. She didn't seem to hear him that time. "Hey, miss! Are you all right?" He called to her once more as he started to walk after her.
As he was coming close to her he noticed a shadow in the corner of his eyes. Looking up in the direction of the shadowed movement, he saw the canine monster leaping from the tall building, baring it's fangs as it silently lept down towards the woman. In a quick flash Sabin quickly dashed forward, knocking the woman forward from behind.
Turning, he began to raise his left arm to catch the canine in the jaw, but was stopped by the sharp pain caused by the wound. The monster landed perfectly on his chest, slamming him hard to the ground and pinning him there. Sabin's movements were just fast enough to raise his right arm, keeping the snarling beast's face only inches from his own.

{*Fuujin*}
Focused on her own thoughts and the flicking of her single good eye to watch for trouble, Fuujin didn’t hear Sabin over the hammering rain – at least, not clearly enough to know she was being addressed.
Everything was all fucked up, even with upgraded maps and several years of everything settling down, it was still baffling. Exciting, sometimes, but at the same time…
How the hell was she supposed to find Seifer and Raijin in this mess? Half the time she could barely figure out where she was. She felt like she would find them, though she’d rather sooner than later. All this traveling alone was getting annoying…
What, ‘miss’? Oh, that was right. Even if she wasn’t the most ladylike of specimens, she did still have breasts.
Fuujin stopped to address the problem of the pestering stranger, but as she turned to face the blonde male she was suddenly shoved back, and stumbled a bit on the slick ground before catching her footing. Straightening quickly, she used her empty hand to brush the wet silver from her vision.
It only took a split second to register the scene before her, and she immediately took a long stride towards the blonde man pinned by the canine and slammed her pinwheel straight into the creature’s back, causing its spine to buckle and blood to splatter across the man and the ground. She then glanced up, towards the roof the monster had leapt from, but she spotted no more of its ilk stalking the higher ground.
“Idiot.” She stated, and her voice was clear and strong, sharp even, but devoid of emotion or much inflection. Fuujin jerked her bloodied pinwheel back towards her body to express her point.
She was armed and perfectly capable of defending herself, even if initially caught by surprise.
“Go.”
He was injured, and she didn’t need his protection.
“Inside.”

~Sabin~
Sabin watched as the pinwheel crushed the creature's body above him, the blood splattering over his own body. Once the creature was fully dead and the woman had removed her weapon, he pushed the monster of his body and slowly moved to get up.
Giving a hearty laugh he looked the woman over. Strong women weren't a rare sight for him after Terra, Celes, and the others, but it was always good to find another strong woman. Ignoring her demands for him to go, he stood there watching her. "Woo, you're a dangerous one, aren't you?" Still grinning, it seemed as though he had forgotten entirely about his bloody wound.
"Maybe getting pinned down by the creature was a bit idiotic, but I don't really mind if I could help keep someone from getting harmed." His grin turned to a light, happy smile as the rain continued to pour down on the two of them.

{*Fuujin*}
At the man’s laugh, Fuujin’s visible eye narrowed slightly, her posture showing both discipline and strength despite her unintimidating size. She regarded him with impassive distance, taking in the sight of his form, though she might’ve taken some offense at his laugh and his words because she didn’t appear to find as much amusement in the situation as he did.
That grin, though….that grin reminded her of someone…someone like…
An image passed before her thoughts – the grinning face of a young male with golden blonde hair spiked in the front and a jagged, black tattoo along one side of his face. Fuujin sighed inwardly.
This really wasn’t what she needed at the moment.
She was fine, the blonde stranger was fine, so was there really any need to continue this association? He might be perfectly happy hanging out in the rain waiting on the monsters to pick up the smell of blood on his body, but Fuujin didn’t plan on being a static target. This wasn’t exactly her favorite place to be anyway, and she was ready for about any unknown location that lingered on the horizon that was not here.
So without a word, Fuujin turned from the man dismissively, picking up her long strides down the blood-splattered streets of Zozo.

OOC: wow, so, long time since I've been here. Huge apology. I'm here and ready to post now though. ^^ This will just be a little bit of a quickie to get myself back into the pace of things. ^^
Sabin watched as the woman continued to walk down the street. Not quite catching on to the woman's obvious feelings towards him, he began to walk with her. He looked around a moment before speaking up once more.
"So, you're certainly not just a normal traveler. If I had to guess, I'd say you're trying to find someone?" His smile didn't fade even once. "I'd be happy to help you out. As they say, two heads are better than one."
OOC: Sorry, crappy post even for a short one, but wasn't short what all to do right here. ^^;

Why was this stranger following her, anyway? Either he hadn’t caught her clear dismissal, or he had picked up on it but didn’t care.
“Unnecessary.” She replied simply, her red eye taking in careful note of the surroundings as she walked, though she didn’t bother glancing at the blonde man. How did this man think he could help her, anyway? He had never met Seifer or Raijin, and therefore could contribute nothing to the speculation of their whereabouts. He seemed strong, for sure, but she didn’t need protection. There was nothing she could do with this man that she couldn’t do without him.
How had he known she was looking for someone anyway? She had given no indication of being anything more than a regular traveler. Though…she supposed most people where looking for someone now…
Unless…
Fuujin paused as abruptly as she had started, giving the impression that pretty much all of her words and movements were executed with a certain sharpness and precision, deliberate and concise.
“Searching?” She inquired, looking at him. This time, her good eye flicked over his figure in a more thorough assessment, though still quick. Hm…it was a bit troublesome to not have Raijin here to translate her curt words into what she actually meant. “For friends?”
Is that how Sabin knew – because he was searching for his own friends?

The blond man quickly stopped in place, slightly mimicking her movements to make sure he didn't bump into her. As she turned and looked him over for only a brief second, he stood still and looked back at her, a bit confused at her sudden pause.
It took him a moment as he tried to figure out what she meant, the short words a little confusing to him at first. Only a moment later though he suddenly gave off a bit of a laugh. The woman happened to bring up memories of a past ally who also spoke in quick, short words and phrases that were hard to understand. A quick flash of concern then washed over his face, thinking of how the little green-haired wild boy was doing in these merged worlds.
A bright flash of lightning filled the sky as a loud crash of thunder followed it, jolting him from the memories. His smile instantly return to his face. "Friends? Yeah. I've been searching for them myself ever since all these worlds got crammed into one. I figured this would be a good place to stop by since it worked once before to find my friends."
Giving a small shrug, Sabin looked about and then shook his head. "But, what can I say. I should've guessed they'd be more interested in new sights to see rather then coming back to old ones. Especially a gloomy place like this."
The muscle-head's thoughts trailed once again. It was decided, he had to get out of this place. It was just bringing up way too many old thoughts and he had enough trouble keeping his mind focused on one thing in any case. "So, if you are looking for any of your friends, I was thinking of heading east toward a town called Dali. I figure the town there has got to be at least a little more lively than this place."

Hm…
Fuujin gave a very slight tilt of her head as she regarded him, the rain trailing down her pale features and trickling from her silver hair. She didn’t seem cold even though it soaked her dark attire and sloshed uncomfortably inside her boots when she shifted her weight, but the threat of new strains of illnesses was high enough to take notice of. With all the new cultures and races, each one was suddenly confronted by a slew of unfamiliar viruses unhindered by their immunities and biological defenses, and many of the nations were regulating brand new arrays of mandatory vaccinations to avoid pandemics. But in bleak, backwards little towns like these…
Who could possibly say. Melmond had not been much cheerier, so Fuujin found herself hoping this ‘Dali’ the blonde spoke of might have something more to offer than ominous foreboding and unpleasant scenery.
The blonde was also looking for his friends, same as she. Last she heard, Seifer had been spotted in Deling City, and after her search there had turned up fruitless she had traveled to Melmond and then continued southward bound to the dreary Zozo, yet she had found neither clue nor further guidance. Dali…it seemed a good a place as any to continue her search.
At least her companions weren’t the most discreet of individuals. She didn’t have to search every single pub, inn, and shop; if she found herself in the same city as them, she would undoubtedly know.
Finally, after a long pause of consideration, she gave a nod of consent. “Dali,” she agreed, then her crimson eye flitted to the darkened sky. There, in the distance, was what seemed to be a planet hovering low in the heavens, supported by a crystalline pillar. The orb could be seen from anywhere on the continent, and it appeared closer than ever to Fuujin.
As far as she was aware, it had no significance to her or her search, yet she found her eyes drawn to it. It was only a second before she started walking down the center street of Zozo again, heading towards the eastern exit.
“Name?”
