I've bumped into many a FF site, but M&R is the first one that I've joined up. I don't have much experience with FF roleplaying, but I will try my best. I've never finished and beaten a FF game before (unless Crisis Core counts), but I've played III, IV, V, VII, X, and the DS spin-off of XII. I stumbled upon this place and saw how the mothership series of I - III didn't have much love, so I figured this site would be a good place to start. I came here with Excalibur, and we wanted to express how refreshing it is to find a roleplay site that gets back to roleplay basics with focusing on the writing as opposed to what the flashiest template you can find is. The one character that I have created so far is Ingus, though I don't suspect I will be app'ing anymore.
I hope to speak more with others on this site.

Welcooome! You know, I've heard that a lot, about how so few sites focus on the writing compared to pretty templates, lately, and I just...really don't get that. It's an rp, not a graphics competition, right? Sure, making things pretty is great, but if that's what gets all the focus, it kind of sucks all the fun out of it.
Anyway, I'm glad you guys like what you see so far, and I hope to see you stick around for a long time!

It can be rather depressing, and seems to be the direction that the Animanga community is heading towards. I'm a coder and a skinner myself, but it's nice to throw in blockquotes and a justify tag as a template for posts instead of a giant style sheet. Granted, you can do the same with those commands but it just feels more nostalgic (if that is even the word).
I can't speak on Ex's behalf, but I hope that life permits me to stay with this site for as long as possible. We staff at another site, so I think that M&R will become a little escape for us.
