Magic: First and second level black magic (Fire, Ice), first, second, and third level Thunder magic, first level white magic Cure.

A tight black spaghetti strap top is half-hidden underneath a much looser black shirt that has a single short-sleeve, which often slips down her arm.
Personality: Cat is a very friendly and outgoing young woman. Though she tended to hide the fact that she could do magic while she grew up, in the new world it isn’t so strange to see individuals practicing magic of some sort, so she doesn’t feel the need to hide it anymore. She is always willing to go to the aid of others, often throwing herself into situations that have nothing to do with her.
Unfortunately, Cat’s first inclination is to trust people she meets. This makes her a little naive, as she wants to see the good in everybody around her. At times this trust can get her into trouble, if it’s shown to the wrong person. She is a very driven young woman, and is incredibly curious about the new world she has found herself in since the Merge. Her main goal, aside from upgrading her magic, is to learn about as much as she possibly can.
History: Cat was born and raised in the town of Thamasa. While it was a fairly quiet town for the most part, the townspeople had a secret hidden from the rest of the world -- they could use magic. They didn’t receive many visitors, being so far away from everything else, but when they did they had to be very careful. Cat found this extremely difficult, as she wanted to learn about the rest of the world. She didn’t want to be careful, and it was probably due to that thought process that the first magic she ever used was accidental. She had gotten into an argument with one of her friends when she was four years old, and accidentally called a bolt of lightning down from the skies. She didn’t hit her friend, but she had won the argument soundly after that.
At that time she rushed home to tell her parents the exciting news. While her father specialized in effect magic (haste, slow, status effects, etc), her mother was a healer. It seemed that Cat’s magic was more offensive in nature with a thunder spell to start her off. After a couple of years, Cat had managed to learn how to cast blizzard and fire, in addition to her thunder magic. Her mother taught her a first level cure magic, but it wasn’t until she turned ten that she managed to master that one.
By the time she hit puberty, she had only met a handful of foreigners. One from Jidoor kept her entertained for days as he told the other children and herself stories about the magnificence of the town. Wealthy townspeople, extravagant parties, celebrities like the opera singer Maria making appearances...it all sounded so wonderful. It was during her pubescent years that she started to develop control over the second level magic fira, blizzara, and thundara. Her parents continued to help her hone her abilities, but she couldn’t seem to get the hang of cura which was a source of disappointment for her mother.
When she turned sixteen her mother started to fall ill, and they lost her just before her eighteenth birthday. It took a few months for Cat to push past it, and during that time her magic went haywire. Randomly calling forth thunder magic, eventually she decided to run away from home to protect the townspeople. It was while she was on her own that she managed to produce a third level thundaga spell while defending herself from an attack. She didn’t stay away from home for long, and returned in only a couple of weeks. Still alive, but more in control than she had ever felt. Traveling had been a wonderful experience, and she knew she wanted to do more of it.
Just over a year later, a small group of travelers came to stay in their town. While the foreigners were in town, Cat would spy on them to try and learn more about where they were from. She didn’t get much, not until the night of the massive fire that swept through her best friend’s house. His younger brother had been playing with a fire rod, and set the house aflame. One of the other young residents of the town, Relm Arrowny, was stuck inside and the strangers had gone in to save her with the girl’s grandfather, Strago. They were successful with another one of their allies, who seemed to keep himself separate from the group, and Cat could breathe easily again.
When Kefka tore the world apart, Cat lost her father. He hadn’t done well since the loss of her mother, and one night he just slipped away in his sleep. Distraught at the thought of being alone, Cat decided to leave Thamasa once more. This time she had a plan in mind. She wanted to travel to each town she knew of, and even some that she was sure she hadn’t heard about yet. Up until the worlds merged, she continued to visit towns and meet new people, enjoying each visit more than the last.
When she came across the Dragon's Neck Coliseum, she was intrigued by the idea of betting a weapon or item in order to obtain a more powerful one. After a few battles, she decided it was time to upgrade her current weapon. Since she hadn't managed to control her healing magic abilities, her mother had left her a healing rod. Betting this item, she came up against a Tonberry. It was the toughest battle she had ever faced up to that point, and she very nearly lost. It took three rare elixirs, about a dozen high potions, and in her opinion, an incredible amount of luck, but eventually she overcame her opponent, and was the new owner of a Magus Rod.
Once the Merge ocurred, there were even more new places to visit. Cat’s knowledge of the world went down the drain, and she was totally lost on her own. That didn’t bother her though, as she continued to learn even more about new races, new religions, and new technology. She was still the most comfortable with her thunder magic, and hadn’t worked on developing her fire and blizzard magic. She has only recently made the decision to get back to her studies, and practice using her magic so that hopefully it won’t take her long to successfully cast blizzaga and firaga, and maybe even a few other types of magic if she can manage to learn it.
