Blue Magic:[/i]
By observing the combat techniques employed by monsters, Cerul is able copy their unique abilities and utilize them herself in the form of magic. Mithra were never meant to fight as beasts do, however, and the complex alchemical process which gives her this ability is a double-edged sword: the use of blue magic puts an immense strain on her body and causes her severe physical pain. Because of this, she usually withdraws after a fight, seeking a place to recover undisturbed.
Magic:
While incapable of using standard black or white magic, Cerul has learned an extensive array of blue magic. Please see FFWiki for a complete list of the effects. Note that she may learn more in threads.

Appearance:
Like most of her race, Cerul is small in stature, both shorter than the average Hume and lithe of build. Her hair is a snowy white, cut in layers - shorter in bangs to frame her face, growing gradually longer toward the back, falling to the center of her shoulder blades when loose. Usually, however, she keeps the lengths of it tied back in a low ponytail, making it look shorter from the front than it really is. Her skin, ears, and tail are a warm brown, close to that of a well-tanned Hume, with a distinctive pattern in a deeper shade marking her face in stripes that stretch down her forehead and curve over her cheeks. Her features largely resemble a cat's, from the feline nose to the large eyes, a bright, clear gold.
True to her class, Cerul wears the heavily-embroidered armor of the blue mage - typically the black silk Mirage garments. Occasionally, she opts for the lighter Magus instead, though she doesn't bother with the hat and veil unless she feels a desire for anonymity. There is more than a cosmetic reason for her choice of clothing, however; both are magically enhanced to help deter the "beast within", as the Immortals call it.
Personality:
Though she once ranked among their number, Cerul displays very little of the discipline of the elite Immortals. She is brash, stubborn, and confident, with a prominent sarcastic streak and a clear impatience. Little troubled by the morally ambiguous, she is quick to take on odd jobs wherever her travels might take her, without much regard to the nature of them - though, notably, she draws the line at killing. Cerul doesn't take well to excuses or coercion, though she isn't against a little manipulation here and there on her own part to get what she wants. For the most part, though, she sees little reason to put in the effort, preferring to drift from place to place without any lingering attachments.
She possesses a definite pride in her skill as a blue mage, having traveled the world in order to learn as much as possible from the beasts roaming the lands, to become that much stronger. If confronted about the dangers of her profession, she would likely laugh it off as inconsequential, though this is largely a ruse: part of her is acutely aware of just what the monster's power inside her is capable of doing to her, and however she may try not to think about it, she is genuinely afraid of the thought of losing herself to an uncontrollable beast.
