Hey everyone!
I just posted a message in the cbox about the width sizing of the forum which I thought might be a helpful little comment but then figured I might as well just go the whole hog and put a message here in more general terms.
I just wanted to offer my services here in coding and gfxing. I don't know who does the skins on here (whoever it is, does a great job) and I don't want to step on anyone's toes, I just thought I would let people know that I do a lot of forum designing on proboards and, if anyone needs any help then feel free to ask.
I get really bored easily so making forums is a pain in the neck for me because I never get into overdrive and actually run them - I make them and then go, argh bored now, and never run them, so I like offering my services on sites that already have their staff and admins so that I can help design but not have to do the admin-y stuff, if you see what I mean. So I'm really not trying to step on toes, I'm just waving my hands about, admitting that I'm bored. Lol.

Sorry - on another slightly different topic, did anyone think of maybe putting the IC boards as a category and making different boards for different locations? Only I think that would make it a lot easier to work out where everyone was and what they were doing if we could physically see it on the boards.

I do all the layout, coding, and setup work here, so thank you for the compliment! I'll let you know later; I do know that I really enjoy making our layouts, so I'm not sure I'd be willing to share the job, just 'cause I'm selfish. <3 BUT, I have considered the idea of splitting the IC boards into different locations, and I came to the conclusion that with this particular RP, it doesn't work. There are too many places, so the only way to split the boards would be by game, which not only conflicts with the nature of a Merged world, but would mean thirteen different IC boards - fourteen if we kept the backstories as-is, which I would want to do. That would stretch the page entirely too much for my tastes. I do appreciate the suggestion, though, I always like to see people being active with their ideas! Keep throwing them at me!

Yeah, that'd be a lot to keep track of especially in a small group, not to mention there's also made up places...and in-between places...and other gray areas that would just be problematic. And even though it looks a bit messy at first glance, at least this way we can see all the threads together chronologically without checking datestamps :3 And old threads just roll off the page or get locked, so it's pretty easy to tell what all is active without having to navigate 14 boards, especially for those of us who read all the posts~

Not to change the subject or anything, but I would like to make a suggestion of my own, since we now have a thread for it:
Does anyone think that we should expand the character sub-boards? By "expand", I mean create sub-boards for both "Inactive" and "Declined" character applications.
"Inactive" would be primarily used to clean up all the "WiP"s (mainly those that are older than a month) on the Characters board without deleting them outright, especially if/when their creator(s) have already passed a required Activity Check.
"Declined" should be self-explanatory and would again help to clean up the Characters board, and while I'm sure no one wants to hurt another member's feelings by flat-out rejecting a character, applications found here could also serve as a template as to what would not be acceptable here at MR.
I'm not looking to disrupt the status quo here or anything, but, just like the title says, I'm just making a suggestion.

Do you think we need a sub-board for that? WIPs are typically deleted after awhile, unless the owner of said WIP is an active member of the group (something I'm guilty of myself, in fact >.>), so it seems a bit of a hassle to have an entire sub-board just for the WIPs; usually we only have a few at any given time. As for rejected characters...
While the idea of having a template for what not to do in MR is solid and a good reference point, I really don't think anyone wants to have their character application displayed in the trash bin, you know? And a lot of people are able to remodel their character into something acceptable. I like the idea you're going for, but I feel it would be a bit embarrassing for people to have their rejected characters emphasized like that.
Those are my thoughts about it, at least :3

Actually, we've had a suggestions thread stickied over here for a long time, it's just sort of dead XD But thanks for posting it, at any rate! I'm going to have to agree with Bha, though; it seems more cluttered to me to leave declined applications around, especially when an application has to have quite a few flaws with what we accept in order to actually be declined. If we had a huge influx of them, we might need to make an example, but as it is we can usually just request a few changes and leave it at that. As for cleaning up WIPs, we've got a rule that incomplete WIPs are deleted - I'm late doing it now, admittedly, but I'm going to take care of it after the activity check. In general, we don't have more than one or two in there at a time if it's kept cleaned up anyway, so it's not too bad.
