Some fairly significant changes to the rules have been put in place, and I want to make sure everyone is aware of them. You can find the rules thread here. In particular, the additions for current members to note are rules 4, 12, and 13.
For the most part, this won't affect any of you. It clarifies the writing quality we're looking for, which we've enforced more or less from the start, and ensures that we get good canon players. Overall, I think this will make things much better for all of us - no worrying about having someone show up and take a canon who relates to one of yours, then play them completely out of character. In other words, high writing quality is important, but accuracy to character will be considered equally when canon applications are reviewed. We'll also be enforcing that people stay in character with canons after the initial approval. Everyone here does that already, so I don't think this will hurt any of you at all.
Another rule covers WIP applications. As you've probably noticed, we've had some sitting for a very long time without being updated or removed. With this rule, WIP profiles are deleted after one week of inactivity, keeping the Characters forum much cleaner. This is flexible if you know you're not going to be able to update, but are certain you're interested - just let a staff member know. Current WIP profiles will be deleted one week from today, if no updates are made or a member of staff isn't contacted. Bharune, don't worry about yours - I know you're around, and you'll get to them when you get a chance.
The other updates clarify systems that have already been in place here, so we don't have any confusion among new members - that battles are entirely based on writing rather than a complicated system, and that characters shouldn't be in more than one thread at once.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to voice them!
