Name: Angelico Galen deNote
Nicknames/Alias: None
FF: FFXII
Age: 21
Height/build: Slender and thin, Angelico stands at a slight 5’8”. He seems to be built like a living doll, with thin limbs and delicate features; however, he is equipped with wiry muscles that allow him more agility than strength.
DoB: December 2nd
Race: Hume
Weapon: Angelico uses a long whip tipped with a thin, sickle-like blade at the end. The design of the blade looks very much like the tip of a scorpion’s tail, though he would prefer to think of it looking like the claw of some great bird.
Level: 32
Strength: 90
Physical: 30
Magical: 20
Agility: 40
Special Skill(s): Being with little physical strength, Angelico uses his wit and agility to get out of many sticky situations. As an Archadian noble, he is well versed and can talk circles around even the most clever of Judges, should the need arise, though you would be hard pressed to find him in a situation where such talking is required.
Magic: Protect, Decoy, Drain, Syphon
Summon: None
Appearance: Thin, pale, and elegant, many would describe Angelico as a living statue, with his flawless skin and lovely face. Black hair sweeps past his shoulders and down his back, normally worn in a loose half braid. His eyes are a piercing violet color, and so sharp that many are too nervous to speak to him.
Personality: Though somewhat aloof, Angelico is generally an easy person to be around if you don’t mind cutting honesty and an iron will. He keeps his emotions reigned in tightly, so more often than not it is near impossible to know what he is thinking. However, beneath his piercing gaze he is constantly judging, assessing, and making note of people’s actions and expressions.
History: Born and bred to a family of nobles in Archades, Angelico lived a relatively bland life as a child. His elder brother, Bronte, received all the praise from their father for being a good swordsman, and his younger brother, Maion, received all the affection from their mother. Due to this, he was a bit of an ass in his younger days, often making snide remarks to his teachers or anyone in a position of authority. This got him into several messes with the guards around Archades, and he learned very quickly how to talk his way out of problems. When Angelico was 15, Bronte joined the Archadian Army, which left the younger deNote to try and fill his older brother's shoes. His father, however, still paid little attention to him, leaving the teen Angelico slightly jaded.
Three years later, his mother became ill, and the healers were unable to help. She slowly wasted away over the span of two years, coughing up blood that seemed to stain her pale hands. Angelico stayed at her bedside for the worst parts of her illness while his father was away collecting samples for the Draklor Laboratory and young Maion off in the Academy. He spent many days in her room, reading to her and bringing her tea to soothe her cough, but he knew he was just watching her die. And eventually she did, thankfully passing in her sleep.
Upon news of their mother’s death, Bronte and Maion came home for her funeral, and from there things only grew worse. Bronte, now a Captain, was angered with Angelico for not telling him of their mother’s illness earlier. Angelico kept reign on his emotions as long as he could, but after a few days of continual arguing, he snapped, lashing out harshly at both of his brothers. His anger took a toll on him, and he collapsed into a gasping heap, his breaths broken by violent coughs.
There was bright red blood now on his own hands, staining his pale skin.
After recovering some of his energy, he left his home without a word. If the doctors here couldn’t help his mother, then he would find someone who could help him.
Even if it spelled an earlier death than expected.
